Attention IGSHPA Accredited Installers

Effective January 1 IGSHPA will have a new membership category designed specifically with you in mind. The IGSHPA Advisory Council has created the Accredited Installer category to “save money and time.” Dues for a three-year Accredited Installer membership will be $300. The membership also:

  • Saves $40 when compared to the yearly individual membership rate
  • Includes the three-year $25 continuing education fee
  • Avoids future membership rate increase for three years
  • Provides three points toward your continuing education credits upon payment
  • Saves time and effort renewing membership and accreditation

Oklahoma Legislature Approves Tax Incentive for GSHP

 Senate Bill #610, passed by the Oklahoma legislature in June 2005, awards a tax credit for contractors who build energy-efficient residential properties. After Dec. 31, 2005, an Oklahoma contractor can receive up to $4000 back on the completion of structures 2000-square feet or less that contain energy-efficient technology, including a ground source heat pump system. Efficiency levels are based on the International Energy Conservation Code 2003 and any other supplement in effect at the time of the structure’s completion.

GSHP Sees Response from Architects

 IGSHPA’s executive director, Dr. Bose, was recently invited to speak at the Oklahoma Board of Architects Fall Seminar on the campus of OSU-Tulsa. Bose made a presentation about the reliability and efficiency of GSHPs to a group of over 200 local architects. Attendees were offered copies of Geo Outlook, the new Buyers Guide and wide array of other informational publications. The seminar, themed “ Green Building,” also featured presentations on wind energy and the importance of industry-supported environmental legislation.
