International Ground Source Heat Pump Association Executive Director James Bose is the director of the Division of Engineering Technology at Oklahoma State University. An OSU alumnus, Bose received his doctorate in mechanical engineering and is a licensed professional engineer.

While ground source heat pump technology has a long, documented history, Bose is regarded as the creator of the systems’ modern application. With research interests in energy conservation and ground source heat pump systems, Bose has served as principal investigator on several private and government research contracts, including the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, the Electric Power Research Institute, the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and the Department of Energy.

Bose has traveled to Sweden, Germany, Austria, Korea and China to promote ground source heat pump technology and has spoken to a variety of audiences from the Kiwanis Club in Glencoe, Okla., to the Department of Homeland Security. Bose has shared his expertise with research agencies, manufacturers, contractors and a number of media outlets, including U.S. News & World Report, Fortune and Forbes.
